PTOSIS
Orientals tend to have an epicanthus, which is a skin fold of the inner eyelid near the nose which narrows the width of the eye. A double eyelid creation may aggravate an epicanthus, as it results in a rounded rather than almond shaped eye. To prevent this, your plastic surgeon may recommend an epicanthoplasty in which the epicanthus is incised to widen the eye.
