BRACHIOPLASTY

Flabbiness of the arms may be due to excess skin, fat or a combination of both.

Excess fat is treated with liposuction; the elastic skin recoils restoring a slimmer arm profile.

If the flabbiness is due to redundant skin, an arm lift (traditional brachyplasty) is indicated, in which an ellipse of skin at the back of the arm is removed. This leaves a linear scar at the back of the arm extending from the axilla (arm pit) to above the elbow, where it is out of sight from the front. Occasionally a T shaped scar is employed with its horizontal limb at the axilla.
